CRM is a risk management consulting and education firm established in 1979 by J. David Ferris, Ph.D., CPCU, ARM.

CRM provides a wide range of risk management consulting services for not for profit, for profit and public entities.

CRM specializes in conducting risk assessment audits including property and casualty insurance program audits.

Disaster Response and Recover Planning is also a service offered by CRM. Effective Business Continuity Planning starts with a thorough risk assessment process.

Our mission is to help management more effectively utilize its resources to increase the value of their organization to its stakeholders by helping management deal with the uncertainty of risk and exposures to loss. We help them make appropriate responses to risk when making decisions about their people, process and operations.

Dave Ferris is the Principle consultant at Central Risk Managers, Ltd.

Education: BS, MA, Ph.D., Professional Designations: (i) Associate in Risk Management (ARM) 1975, (ii) Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) 1980, (iii) Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AII) 1987. Ferris was also one of the first to be accorded the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) designation in the charter year of 1983.

Dave was on the adjunct faculty at Cornell University teaching courses in Risk Management and Insurance from 1985 to 1995. He continues to teach in their Executive Education program. He was the risk management consultant to the County of Tompkins, New York from 1986 to 1992. He is the risk management consultant to Hobart and William Smith Colleges and has provided risk management services to the Cooperative Extension Services of Cornell University and The Pennsylvania State University for more than 25 years.

He has published numerous articles on insurance and risk management topics in a wide range of publications.

Dave has been teaching advanced Continuing Education courses for insurance agents, brokers and consultant for the New York Insurance Department for more than 10 years.
